![]() ![]() Thanks for your input, jasonq, when you say the 105s last year do you mean the carbon converts or the helios? I'll read up about the chargers for sure, the BD Link 105s also look like an alright alternative. I've been curious about pushing into the 190's for length, my Amps are 185s and I'm thinking a bit more ski would help at speed, I like how they smear and are super playful but they kinda suck at speed. The pinnacle seems similar to the Nordic Enforcer which I've heard great things about and is a resort dream ski for sure in the 193 length. The K2 pinnacle 105 look like rippers! Is it just the new version if the Annex? The annex are kinda uggly (IMO) but I could get over that if I could save $400 although I'd probably want them in the 191 length if it is a resort ski. Then when the amps get to beat up I could replace them with a lighter touring ski. Current quiver-188 Rustler 11s with Shifts (resort and sidecountry ski that I haven't skied yet) -187 Liberty Origin 106s with Shifts (used them as a resort and sidecountry ski in a place with less snow than where I live now). Sounds like that won't be the case though so maybe I should look to a damp, metal resort skis like the Pinnacle or the Nordica Enforcer. I'm looking for a lightweight dedicated touring ski for long days. Then the Amps would be for getting after soft and variable resort snow. I was about to buy the helio's because I thought they would be more damp than the Amps on hard pack so would be good for backcountry and resort groomer days with the gf (who skis mostly blue groomers and blue bumps). I'm thinking I'd want two pair of skis in the long term, resort and BC. Ok, thanks! I'm 6'2" 190lbs riding Scarpa T1s and am an advanced skiier. It is a great ski, but it is not damp and does chatter on hard stuff, about the same amount as any ski i have tried in this width and weight.ītw, there was a killer deal on sierra trading post on voile chargers a couple days ago when combined with their deal flyer 25% extra off they were about 300 bucks Balancing playful, soft- snow performance with a lightweight build and technical precision for when conditions are variable, the Helio 104 features a pre-preg carbon fiber layup with full-perimeter ABS sidewalls for improved dampness and a smooth ride, while the engineered paulownia wood core keeps it lightweight for big vert days in the backcou. but then i am 140 lbs and ski neutral bindings. I can't imagine i'll ever have a pull out problem. ![]() I did tap the holes, and i could see that without tapping, the thin metal plate could delam, and that would cause problems. both times i used liquid nails as the glue/sealant. I swapped the bindings on them once, using the same holes, and the original screws were tight, and the new screws felt good too. I have the 105's, and have skied them tele for the last year. Back then i remember the web page touting the metal binding plate and how bomber it was from multiple remounts, etc. BD's no tele thing is interesting, and different from when they released the 105's last year. ![]()
